Hi Everyone, My wife and I have recently purchased this old wind up camper trailer as a restoration project. It's got some stickers on it that lead me to believe it is a "Holiday Equipment Trailblazer" I've been able to find a little bit of information on the Holiday Equipment Company but not much on any model called a Trailblazer. I was told it was built in the mid 1970's. Does anyone here have any info or knowledge on this particular model?

Hi and welcome timc 88, Yes your van is a Trailblazer by Holiday equipment, looks about a 1978 model, but interior pics will confirm with layout and colours. They were made in Cranbourne alongside a range of other campers and pop tops, they are steel framed and very strong. The windup system uses clothesline wire around a central winder, easy to repair if broken and as you wind up the roof the beds slide out.The canvas used was very good quality heavy duty birkmire, They closed down in 1979-80. Hope this helps Cheers hughdeany

Hi Hughdeany, Thanks for that info! I'm really interested about the history of this thing as it's not your typical Jayco or big-brand that you see everywhere. Also, proving difficult to find someone willing to re-canvas it because of this! I've attached some photos of the interior to this post too

Hi again, Your van is one of the last made with the side kitchen that lifts off.One or the Trailblazers attributes was you could see over the top of it in the rear vision mirror! Find a motor trimmer or canvas maker that would be willing to help, because the canvas is in 4 pieces ( or should be) they would be easy enough to replicate. Holiday Equipment also made the Worley,Cargill, trilablazer and Big T campers, and Ezytow pop top caravans.Their main thing was camping shops like BCF or Aussie Disposals that all their campers were sold from. Cheers hughdeany
