I have an old Viscount caravan and need to remove the fridge for servicing. I've read on this site that people have removed their caravan fridges, but give no instructions on how to do this. Can someone please help me? Thanks, Joan

Hi Joan, The fridge is usually held in place by 4 x screws just inside the door edge, the may be covered with white buttons that just prize out. It may help to remove the door first, held by a removeable pin at the top hinge.
When you slide the fridge forward , go slow there is bound to be cables coming along with the fridge & and perhaps a gas line, unplug the 240v lead before you start & turn the gas off.
Try & have someone that can lift, they can be a bit stubborn. cover your lino with an old towel. Cheers Mustang

Hello Joan, Have you measured the dimensions of the fridge? My fridge in my Viscount was dropped in through the roof after taking the roof hatch off as it doesn't fit through any other opening.
If you are based in Sydney, Alternate Refrigeration service fridges "in van" where possible as this is usually less labour intensive.
What is wrong with the fridge by the way?
