Hi all,
New member Drewlean has sent me the following questions by PM. Can anyone help him out with the info he needs?
"Hello there, I thought you may be able to answer a question about the axle/bearings on my van. Do you know what axles/bearings/stud patterns were used on these vans? The studs look like 7/16th.. Holden I believe? It's a 1966 Viscount Ambassador E1523 and I'm wanting to replace the brakes from backing plate to brake drum. I am having trouble identifying the axle bearings. The axle is a 39mm square version with a drop of 39mm... the bearings size at the rear is around 32mm and front is around 25mm. The backing plate studs are 65mm centres. I can't seem to match these bearing sizes to any Holden bearing models. Further, I'm not even sure the brake drums are original. They have stampings with Watford Axles Ltd Reference HBY... but the drum doesn't seem to mount all the way back to the backing plate... leaving a small gap of 3mm between the backing plate and the drum?
Really hoping you can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
Drew"
