Hi Tank and welcome as a guest. Would be interested in knowing what type of van you're restoring. Generally, when the calico lifts, it means you have to strip it off and replace it. Not very difficult, just messy. Remove the old calico and sand the surface smooth. I generally put on a layer of primer/sealer/undercoat. then thickly lay on a good exterior acrylic house paint a section at a time and roll new calico on, making sure you soak it fully and remove air bubbles. do this till you've done the whole roof. I generally then roll on another 4-5 coats of topcoat to seal it properly. Good for another 50 years!

Hi Tank, Welcome to the forum. Great to hear that you're going to repair the roof of your van. Have you seen the replies to your first post on another thread about repairing the roof? A couple of forum members have already provided some info, so I've used my ability as an admin team member to merge the other posts into this thread. I hope that helps and that you find it all (just look higher up this thread). We'd love to hear a bit more about your caravan too. You mentioned that it was built in 1956. What type is it? If you'd like to post some photos, there's info on how to do that if you click on this link. Don Ricardo0
