Hi there Vintage Caravaners...after attending the 2021 Nationals in Victor Harbour with our (Classic) Millard Starcraft wind-up/ends out camper, circa 1977 ... now have the Vintage bug! Have eyes on a barn find sitting outside in central Vic, Desc; Wayfarer Roadliner. .all aluminium, single axle with double bed /settee in rear and the usual front table/convertible bed/kitchen table front and sides have the chrome(with red infill) knights head emblem surmounting a triangle background. Bit rough inside with some water damage to rounded rear bed internal walls all cupboadrs/cooker etc in situ but a real mess with old food containers/etc Guy was going to take to scrap metal or tip and hoping for $200 but hasn't got around to it!
Have not been able to master photos on this site with my phone..Have photos of van on my phone. No photos of drawer bar numbers though.
Van has impact damage to the aluminium front and rear external bulkheads from poor parking. I know the wood frame can be rebuilt if smashed /rotten where damaged, however,
is it possible to remove these and have someone re-roll the aluminium to essentially 'panel beat' out the damage?
(Iv'e noticed that many people on site have been advised to seek old profile/vans to salvage profile, however hope I can save the original instead)
Haven't made a bid on the van until I'm sure I can fix damage Thoughts /contacts in VIC for re-rolling/end aluminium extrusion work please?
