I have my front panel back of and I thought this time I should think about wiring while I have another spot to run wires.
My caravan is lined from front to back but not the sides, there appears to be no way to get power to the fridge from the power inlet it has a gas pipe only to the fridge but I might be able to get power to it by al.most doing a loop around the van.
I would like to try and make up a fridge from a modern 12v fridge and a more period correct fridge but I might be dreaming there.
I would like to have as much as possible on 12v to keep the 240 minimal and maybe save power bypassing a invertor for as much as possible so I don't have to have the inverter running all the time.
I'm thinking of changing the stove for electric if there is a efficient way to do it that still looks period.
I want to be able to run a whole weekend on battery but also be able to hook up at a caravan park or charge from the car.
If possible I would like to run without a heavy cable and anderson plugs from the car or is theis completely impossible with a lithium battery?
My caravan is only 13.2 foot, but it has a huge hatch, the hatch is bigger than the biggest 160w solar panel at supercheap, I'm thinking of building this into the hatch, probably building a new hatch from scratch as slim as possible but with some kind of airflow under the panel but so the panel is not visible from the ground.
I am trying to keep weight minimal and was thinking of a 100ah lithium battery.
So now I am trying to work out what parts I need, I guess a inverter, a dc to dc charger, a solar controller, a 240-12v charger.
What do I need to switch between running 240 of the caravan park power and 240 of the battery and invertor?
Are there any good cheap bits on ebay to look for?
Has anyone done a set up like this in a old bondwood van?
Does anyone have ideas for doing the lighting to look period correct but using 12v LED?
If 12v trailer plug is earthed to chassis and 240v is earthed to chassis can this do anything to the car if someone plugged in the 240 while it was still plugged into the car?
Is there any period looking taps that can run with a electric pump?
