Hi All Thanks for letting us join this great forum. We have found our Gypsy 10, we are new to any kind of caravan reno and would love any tips for full restoration along the way. If anybody has any old manuals, articles, books, or knows of where to get original parts we would be appreciative.

Hi Colinsandyreo,
Oh dear it needs a little love. Do you know what year it is?
The rear windows look different to mine.
Do you have the missing front window somewhere?
Anyway its great to find another Gypsy 10 and caring new owners.
I'll PM my details to you.

Hi Guys check out history for the Gypsy vintagecaravans.proboards.com/thread/2013?page=1The forum has lots of technical and reno posts as well. Would be good see the inside of your van and also what exactly you are after knowing about. Most of these things take one step at time. A lot of these oldies takes learning a bit of handiwork diy. Good luck with the restoration. Cheers

Congratulations on your purchase. Once the thrill of purchase is past you may then look at the caravan in the shed, back yard, or driveway and think to yourself "How in heck am I going to deal with this?". There are many stories on this forum on how people have restored caravans. The full story on our van is here - vintagecaravans.proboards.com/thread/13769/lady-evelyn-1940s-bondwood-caravan On the second page you will find two PDF files that tell the whole story. In our story, and others on this forum you will find an underlying theme. That theme is "do the restoration in small steps". Break the process down into manageable chunks and do them one at a time. One mistake that some restorers make is to pull the whole van apart and then begin to stress about where to start. My two bobs worth would be is to make a list of what needs to be fixed, and then work through the list. Be aware of course that some things need to be done in a particular order. For example, if you are going to redo the wiring, then don't wait until the van is painted. Schedule that task when you have the outer layer off. Best of luck and don't be afraid to ask for help. There is a huge amount of knowledge and abilities amongst vintage van owners. And finally find out where your nearest bunnings is. MT

Hi Colin & Sandy
I PMed you this message a few weeks ago with no reply you may have missed it so I've posted it in the open in the hopes you spot it here.
A friend of your was going to take pictures of my 10 at the nationals but did not have the time to do so.
So I have taken them given you a list of what they are and have a floor plan and a rough sketch of the kitchen layout.
Hope it helps.
What I need is your personal email to send them to you.
