Does anyone know what the original weights for a 1966 Olympic Debonair would be. Can the springs and axel be upgraded if so what would the frame take.

The weight would be around 720kg to 750kg, but the best way to get the tare weight is to empty the Debonaire out and get it weighed. The springs can be retempered and an extra leaf added below the main leaf, that will give you an upgrade. Due to the length of the springs fitting new springs would need the hangers to be relocated. Axles are an easy upgrade, just get a new 45mm made which will use slim line bearings(Falcon bearings). Just be aware that you also might need an engineers mod plate if you want to increase the ATM.

Thank you for that information I have contacted a spring manufacture and an engineer to work out what I can raise the ATM to. Just want to make sure that I'm legal when towing for insurance purposes.
