Hey everyone, This is my first post to the forums!
We own a 1969/70 Newlands Sundowner which I inherited when we brought our house. I am in 2 minds about the ability I have to fully rebuild this as it would be from the chassis up. I was wonder if this has any value... (I understand this is a loaded question and opens me up to mixed responses) Here is what I know: - Chassis is totally gone. (Still has the A frame, tow bar etc but will need a tilt tray to relocate) (obvious no REGO and don't even have papers as previous owners didn't leave it.)
- Outside cladding, rails, windows & doors all in good condition (1 crack in glass of front window but the frames are all looking good)
- Interior is all original, but there is water damage signs in all corners. I think the wooden frame will mostly be rotted.
I have zero idea if this van has any value or not and would absolutely love to restore it but the idea of starting from the chassis up and basically totally rebuilding the van seems daunting.
If there is value I would love to be able to swap with another van but yeah... don't know if I am taking the piss!
Thanks in advance for any replies and hopefully a nice honest response!

You could try an auction on ebay with a reserve, that will show the value & interest. You are correct about a daunting task to fully rebuild, but if the van is under cover, you have basic tool set & ambition to learn from others here, it can be a lot of fun. Mustang
