Has anyone had any experience of hiring their van out for photo shoots? Is it worth it? How do you go about it? Are there any reputable companies to deal with ... and are there any disrputable ones to avoid?
It would be a real help if I could generate funds to go towards restoring and running the van.

Hi Belinda, Every now and then someone comes on to the forum looking for a van for a photo shoot, etc. Once you take into account the time involved and the cost of taking your van on site, I think the economics might be a bit marginal, but probably you have to just examine each opportunity as it comes along. Austin125 hired a couple of his vans out to be used in the filming of "The Dressmaker", and Sandra and Dennis hired their Phoenix out for an episode of the contemporary version of the Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. And of course, Cobber's Driftwood has been featured in more adverts, etc, than Cobber has had hot dinners, so it does happen. (The links are to posts on the forum about the use of the vans for the films, not the actual films themselves.) Austin125 also hires some of his vans out for holiday makers, and Vantoura has set up a FaceBook page for people interested in hiring their vans out for photo shoots, etc. The Time to Roam has recently had some articles about hiring out your van, sort of like a mobile Airbnb. May not be economically viable. Consider this... Income may be taxable Capital gains tax may apply if/when selling the caravan Public liability insurance may be required Insurance company must be informed that the caravan is a commercial entity (higher premiums?)
If in doubt consult professional advice (an accountant?)
