Hi Everyone, I have come across this great site which is fantastic and full of info! I recently purchased a Franklin Arrow that I intend on renovating / restoring but I wanted to try and Identify it a little better and what year it was built. On the Rego Papers it says it’s a 1900 FRANKL CARAVN The Gentleman I purchased it from said it was a 1985 Franklin Arrow 16 foot. On the Inside of the largest cupboard it has written in texter, 15’ Arrow 9992 On the Draw Bar it is stamped, 9992 2 or maybe 9992 – 2 It has an Arrow Badge/sticker next to the door. I am not sure if there is any other spot on the van that I look for Identifying it. If anyone can give me any additional info or knows what year it was built based on the above that would be greatly apricated. Thanks, Josh

Hi Joshdebo, Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure you'll get a lot of pleasure with your caravan, both in restoring it as well as using it. Looking at the photos I can confirm that it is a Franklin Arrow. The serial number you have found, which would be '9992-2', tells us that it was built in 1972 ('-2') and was the 9,992nd van built by Franklin that year, Hope that helps? Don Ricardo

Hi Don, Thanks heaps for getting back to me so quickly, and yes it helps a lot, so thanks heaps for teaching me how the number on the drawbar works. You have basically answered everything in one answer! I am looking forwards to restoring the van and brining her back to her former glory and really looking forward to the project and then enjoying using the van once it is completed. I may have some additional technical questions and look for some advice during the reno as well. I will keep you posted on my progress and do some before and after photo’s once I have completed it. Thanks again for your help. Josh

Hi Austinmer,
The serial number you've quoted isn't a Franklin serial number. As you've correctly indicated in another post, it's a Viscount number.
