Hi! I have just bought what I am told is a 1959 Wanda Caravan. Lola is 14ft aluminium and bondwood. She has 279 on her draw bar. There is something after it but I can't make out if it is a 0,9 or d as the wild has chipped off. As well as identifying her I am hoping to find where I might find parts like the aluminium that edges the spats.

Hi Lola09, Welcome to the forum and thanks for telling us about your new van. I trust you will create many happy memories with her. There is a little bit of information about Wanda caravans in the Down History Lane section here. Our understanding at this point is that Wanda Caravans was a caravan dealer in Melbourne that sold Franklin caravans under its own name. So that most likely means that your van is basically a Franklin. With Franklin vans the digit at the end of the serial number tells us the year of manufacture, so it’s a shame if it is chipped off. Nevertheless if you can show us some photos of your van we can most likely identify the model and at least a range of years when it was built. Include a photo of the serial number as well, and you never know, we might be able to make an educated guess at the last number. There are instructions on how to post photos via a photo storage website in the ‘Forum Guidelines and Helpful Hints’ section of the forum. Alternatively you can post photos using the ‘Add Attachment’ button in the ‘Create Post’ window. If you have any problems let me know and we can help you further. (I can post the photos for you if you run into any issues.) It will be great to see your Wanda, and we will be pleased to help you work out a bit more about it. Don Ricardo
