I would think it is definitely one of the earliest Roadmasters still around - if not the earliest. Roadmaster did produce an earlier more rounded shape, apparently, but then transitioned to this shape.
I’m not an expert on Holden tail lights, but from what I think I know, the tail light on the van is from an FJ Holden, and not an FX model. So that suggests that the van is no earlier than 1953 when the FJ was introduced. The same tail light was shown on Roadmaster adverts at least until 1956.
Being such a rare van, I hope it doesn’t end up being bought by someone who wants to turn it into a coffee van. I think it’s already been on Gumtree a few times.
