This caravan has been stored carefully under cover in a dry climate and while the paint is flaking off there is no apparent sign of rot so would be a really worthwhile restoration project. We bought it from it's first owners (photo below) with the aim to refurbish but no longer able to. It has two long single beds and a front divan bed. Stainless steel sink and hand pump. Icebox. Vacuum brakes fitted, would be convertible to mechanical overrides. Please PM if you are interested. Price negotiable. LOCATION : Whittlesea, Victoria

Great to see the photos of your Franklin.
Based on the side window frames, my guess is that your van is from around 1958, plus or minus a year or so. And given that the front and rear windows are fixed, I reckon that it’s most likely the Standard model from that time.
It’s definitely amongst the one or two earliest Franklins we’ve seen on the forum, so I’m hoping that whoever buys it appreciates its historical importance.
Just out of interest, is there a serial number created out of weld on the drawbar? I’m not sure when Franklin started putting serial numbers on their vans, but that’s why I’m interested.
Hi Don Ricardo, We checked for a serial no. on the draw bar and couldn't find one. Might have been built before serial nos. The original owners told us the van was built specifically for them to their specs.
