Hi All,
Unfortunately my old Sunliner didn't go too well with 6 inside so needs to be sold. I've had her for four years and had some great trips but its time to move on. I'm going to give a camper trailer a go and try out some more remote camping. I'd say I'll come back to the vintage world once my kids get older. Maybe sooner, time will tell.
There's some pics of her here - vintagecaravans.proboards.com/thread/14290/lola-64-sunliner
Additional info / pics on the ad I put up on Gumtree - www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/huskisson/caravans/1964-sunliner-vintage-caravan/1242584451?utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=ios_sVIP&utm_medium=social&utm_source=email
Info from the Gumtree ad:
Externally she has been repainted at some point and presents well.
Internally she has nice pastel colouring, a dinette at one end that converts into a king single and a couch at the other end that also converts into a bed.
The original cooker is there and the cupboard has had shelves added.
There’s also a 240v AC unit for when you have power available
Additionally there are two 92ah AGM batteries wired up to the 12V 105L Indel fridge. These charge off a Durst 20A charger or an Anderson plug on the drawbar so you can easily go solar or charge off your car. There’s also a Jaycar battery disconnect so you don’t flatten your starter battery if connected to your car.
When I installed the fridge I had to remove some of the cupboard and the sink and this still needs some touching up. I was going to box it in and put a Bunnings kitchen bench top in but it’s time to go.
It’s a great caravan but not perfect as it is almost 60 years old. On the outside there is a mark on the roof around 20cm x 15cm where I’m guessing it hit a bird or branch or similar. This could easily be repaired by a boat shop or fibreglass repairer. The seals on the windows are fairly cracked but are still watertight so will need replacing in the near future. Also where the front AC was put in the foam they have used to seal it has shrunk and allowed water to damage the dinette a little as shown in the pictures. For this you can either refit a window or cut a piece of Perspex or similar to go where the foam is.
As it’s a fibreglass van the rest of the interior is in great condition unlike many other vintage caravans that have water issues.
If I could still fit my family in her I’d be hanging onto her as there getting harder and harder to find.
Apart from the minor issues mentioned she’s in great order and ready to go. She’s extremely light also at 690kgs and easily towed by smaller cars or perfect behind a classic vehicle.
Any questions feel free to give me a call / message via Gumtree
Happy Camping.
Cheers,
Patrick.
