WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO WHEN WE'RE AT THE NATIONALS?
Besides the activities scheduled as part of the official Nationals Program, there are heaps of other things to do around Victor Harbor and the Fleurieu Peninsula. So if some of the activities in the Nationals Program don't tickle your fancy, or you've done them before, there are plenty of other options which are listed below. (But remember that some of the activities listed on the flyer are also part of the Nationals Program.)
Also take note that there is a very special offer available for travel to nearby Kangaroo Island (see below). BUT YOU NEED TO BOOK BY 29 FEBRUARY for travel up to 30 June. The offer is being made available to assist the Kangaroo Island community recover from the recent bushfires.
For anyone interested in touring Kangaroo Island in their car/caravan combo, I have a quote I received today to do so. This is for travel from Cape Jervis on April 28. Returning on May 1. Our car/caravan combo is 5.35m and 4.5m. Altogether. 9.85m. Height 2.45m. The price includes 3 nights accommodation on a powered site at Kingscote Caravan Park. All up $587. If we book before 29/2. After that it is $687. Another option is to do a day trip across. Fare is $25 return. Then hire a car for the day over there at $99. If we take our own car, the cost is $196. This day trip price must be booked before 29/2. Hope it helps anyone trying to work out the costs of travel to the Island. I received this info from Jane at Victor Harbor Tourist Centre. Phone no. Is 088551077. She is really lovely and helpful and is looking forward to hearing from the vintage vanners.
