Hi Brett and welcome. Your van appears to have very old wheels, which probably means it’s an old van that’s been upgraded in the 70 s with new aluminium, windows, oven, and whatever else has been done on the inside. I can remember as a kid going to Classic caravan repairs in Murrumbeena and seeing the line up of bondwood being upgraded in their workshop. It used to be big business in the 60s and 70s! The problem is that now folk are buying these vans and have no idea of the age, thinking they are much newer than they actually are. I’m sure someone on here will tell us what those wheels are and give you an age. Cheers hughdeany

Thanks for that . I think you are right ... after gutting the interior it seems there is an older original frame with a more vintage shape under the skin . Wow See pic flic.kr/p/2hB1cHk

Gday Brett. So what`s your grand plan? To retain current shape or reinstate its former style? Either way you have the bones for a great project.

Great question . I think I will keep the current shape . But somehow highlighting the evolution from old to not so old I’m definitely going Modern interior to make the most of the space . The other great thing I found was timber floor boards under the Masonite .
