Hi all, I just picked up this little beauty. My first! From what I read and have been told she is a Franklin Safari (not Viscount as per stickers). The Chassis number is hard to read but looks like 206 5 . Which would suggest it’s 1965. However what I have read the safari wasn’t around until late 1966. The tow hitch has ‘Franklin Caravans’ & F10 stamped into it. All the pic’s I have seen have 2 x rear left side bunk windows but mine has one large both sides. Any ideas??? Cheers Ryan postimg.cc/gallery/ho0zej5i/Hey

Hi auquasalt, Franklin made hundreds of versions of each of their models, and also did custom building for those that wanted something different. I saw your van for sale and it has a standard layout, you could have 2 to 8 berth depending on size and layout. Franklin made nearly all their own components, hence the Franklin stamp on the coupling. Your van could be late 65,sold 66,so don’t lose any sleep over that! Cheers hughdeany

Thanks Hughdeny, the older the better. She is a 2 berth and with an internal wall & sliding door. In fairly good cond for a 50yr + van. Looking fwd to bringing her back to life.
