Hi all, First time poster, my loving partner & I have got the caravan bug. We are a blended family of 7 children (6 boys, 1 Girl). We are due to marry this coming July & have purchased the Viscount Ambassador to do a Reno as our first family project so they all have a vested interest in something together. My question is, which would be the original strip colour or is this the original colour scheme for this year model. Also the coupling needs replacement, best place to source it ? I look forward to your advice & thoughts. cheers closest exxon mobil station to my locationhow to find diesel gas stations[img src=" i.postimg.cc/X7nZbnp1/F6855949-31-C3-4480-84-D0-2199-D0-AB0-D59.jpg" style="max-width:100%;" src="" alt=""]

Hi Scoot, Great to hear about your family project. I’m sure the van will create a lot of lovely family memories for you all. Based on the cladding profile and the shape of the colored flashes, your van looks like a 1969 Ambassador model. If you haven’t already, have a look at the Ambassador thread in the ‘Down History Lane’ section of the forum here and you’ll see some other examples. However, if you can let us know the serial number of the van we can confirm the build year for you. The build date is welded on the door side arm of the drawbar, but may be underneath the jockey wheel clamp. If that’s the case, have a look under your table where the serial number may be handwritten in pencil or pen. I have seen the flashes on your model Ambassador in both light blue and dark green, but I think it’s unlikely that it was originally both. I’m wondering if I can see some little bits of blue underneath where the dark green is bubbling. If that’s the case then light blue is likely to have been the original. However, forum member Twocutekelpies may be able to tell you more. She’s the Viscount expert around here. Hopefully somebody can advise you about the coupling. It’s not my skill area, but I presume the existing coupling can’t be reconditioned? Don Ricardo
