Greetings all,
Just wondering if if anyone has had experience with the latest 3M Extreme Seal tape products ( especially 4412) - I am thinking of using some to cover the roof rivets in our old Carapark toaster as a temporary means to weatherproof the van.. It is very expensive but it seems like people have had good success with it in other industries due to it being so pliable.
I would be interested to hear about anyone’s experiences. I appreciate that delaminating and using sikaflex is the only real way to restore Caraparks but this tape or others may offer temp solutions.
Cheers,
Stephen

I've not used this product so can't give first hand experience. Reading about it, it seems that "real" tests were made on a truck roof over some years. I imagine that the roof surface would have been steel. I couldn't find anything that gave any info on whether it would also stick to aluminium. Also, if it does stick and is left on for a couple of years, how easy/difficult is it to remove, once you want to start the proper restoration work.
Otherwise it sounds an interesting product. The final decision, as always, is yours.
