Hi Lilripper,
Welcome to the forum.
Have you looked at the Coronet thread in the 'Down History Lane' section of the forum? (Just go to the index near the top of the section and click on the 'Coronet' link.)
We don't have as much info about Coronet as we do about some brands, but there is some info there that may help you. Hughdeany also knows a fair bit about Coronet I think, so may be able to help you.

Hi lilripper, The photos didn’t work! If your van is the one in your avatar ( which I gather it is) then it’s a 1969 Coronet mini, they were made with a front kitchen and two rear singles with a table between, and mini minor wheels. They were a 9.6 baby caravan, very cute and not many made. Hope this helps Cheers hughdeany

Hi Hughdeany,
Sorry for the late reply. Yes I had problems posting photos & I'm still not able to get to this right. Yes it is the same as in the picture in the aviator and you have described my van right down to the mini minor wheels. Thank you for the additional info.

Hi Hughdeany, I have finally been able to post some pics of my van and would appreciate your input as to whether it is as you say a 1969 Coronet Mini. I have checked under the draw bar but not able to locate a number. There is a registration plate which has been attached to the front of the van which indicates it is a 1965 Coronet.

Hi Hughdeany, I have also added another picture of the side of the van. I have a question about the bottom trim on the side of the van. There appears to be no trim from the front to the back and over the wheel arch, did they come out like this or has it been removed at some stage?

Hi lilripper, If the plate looks genuine then I would say go for 1965! Easy. Is the trim missing on both sides? If so it must be original, otherwise can you see screw holes under the body where trim would have been? Cheers hughdeany

Hi Hughdeany,
Thanks for your response. Will go with 1965 rego. Thanks also for your suggestion of checking under the van to look for evidence of screw holes for missing trim on both sides. I’ll check this later.

Hi Lilripper, Well done on posting the photos of your van. Getting photos up is a bit of a process unfortunately, but it’s great that you’ve been able to work through it. Now that I see your van, I realise that I’ve seen it when it belonged to a previous owner. It’s fabulous that it’s gone to someone who appreciates it and is looking after it. Your Mini is very different to Greeny’s Coronet Mini that he has recently posted about here. It goes to show how caravan designs developed in the mid to late 60’s. Yours looks like a miniature version of the larger Coronets around 1965, whereas Greeny’s has quite a different style to the larger early 70’s Coronets. Don Ricardo
