Hey vintage vanners
Adoes anyone know where I could find the weight specs of these vans ? its a 1975 15ft Baravan. Iam restricted to what I can tow with my car as I dont have a cruiser or anything similar. my car is a 2011 Santafe rated to tow 2000KG with a down ball of only 150KGs. I have scales to measure the down ball but iam concerned the ratings of 970 and 1190 may be fictitious.
DO these vans have ID plates or is it a little guess work ?
thanks Luke

Vans of that era did not have ID plates. Our 15 foot Travel Home weighed in at 900 kgs empty, although when I drained the water tank it had about 70 litres in it. Where did you get the 970 / 1190 from as they sound in the ballpark.

Hey.
I just had my van weighed and it came up at 1300 kgs. To me that sounds way to heavy and not sure why it would be that heavy. I have replaced the floor with floating board approx 60 to 70kg. I have replaced the old gas fridge with a lighter fridge but still seems excessive. Everything else is as it was.
Thanks.
