I have been contacted by the organisers of the 2019 Canberra Wheels Display day with an invitation for Vintage Caravan Owners to display their vans. We had good feedback with our 2018 display as it provided some different viewing interest for the event other than cars. Please let me know if you would like to come along with or without a period tow car and I will pass the info on to the organisers. I am waiting on a answer regarding whether we will be able to camp overnight (Sat). Click on the link below for more information. www.cactmc.org.au/posters/CACTMC_Wheels_2019.pdfKoala

I have been advised by the organisers that free camping will be provided for Vintage Caravans on the Saturday night for those displaying their van. The event is held at Queanbeyan Showground which is quite handy if you would like to use it as a base to visit the area for the weekend. I believe that there will also be some sort of trophy/prize awarded to the caravans.
Please let me know if you are attending so that I can advise the organisers.

It was a glorious summer day for the Canberra Wheels Display with about 800 cars and 5 vintage caravans turning up. Three of us camped over for the night and marked our spot ready for the opening of the event and allowed us to setup around the perimeter with vans with or without tow cars just tacking on the end as they arrived. After a couple of years attending this event with our caravans the organisers have finally come to understand how best to display caravans with the result that we were comfortable and were kept busy with people inspecting our vans. Jayco Caravans had a modern van on display and a representative was asked to judge the best vintage caravan. I am please to say that Annalise (Wildbrumby) was the winner and was presented with a great trophy for her Viscount. A great day overall and congratulations to Annalise. Koala
