We have finally decided to take the plunge and buy our first caravan for 2 adults and 2 young kids. We don’t want to upgrade our small 4wd so have been looking at fiberglass options. I have come across 2 Olympic caravans (Riviera and Debonair) but unfortunately have come upon them too late and missed out!
Does anyone having any leads on any with good bones/relatively good shape, or any other sort of condition?
We are located in Townsville but may be able to travel a bit around north Qld for the right purchase (or if a delivery could be arranged).
Would love your thoughts.
You know you have found the one when your heart starts to race!!!)

Be patient, they come up, sometimes fully renovated. Be prepared to travel from Townsville.

The fantastic fibreglass shiffer-outer, atouchofglass lives in Cairns and when he reads this may well be able to help point you in the right direction. There is also an Olympic Facebook site that you could chase up

Looking at the photos I would think this Olympic is a lot earlier than 1974. Maybe 1968 or earlier.
Cheers Bob.

If you can let me know the chassis number Patrice I may be able to fill you in on a bit of information on the van. Cheers.

Based on the frameless single hopper windows and the fact that it has plywood paneling rather than fibreglass mold on the interior, it is definitely pre 70's. Likely to be 68-69.

Square kitchen sink and cupboard door handles makes it one of the early Rivieras, 1965 or 1966.

I think Warren might be on the money here, if you notice the power inlet it is recessed into the body. It will be interesting to know the chassis number as it looks like another early model.
Cheers Bob.

There is also an Olympic Facebook site that you could chase up Oops I am late to this party! There is a facebook page you might be interested in search "Olympic vintage caravans" on fbook. Up this way I am told there is one but I've not seen it. When I bought mine I had to travel to Newcastle. So yeah, they do come up and you will have to travel. Right now there are two available through the fb page mentioned. Cheers Atog
