Photos of the Vintage Van Nationals are available on My Facebook page "Belair Photography". I have not posted them here as I can only post one image at at time, where as on Facebook I can post the 102 images in about 5 minutes. www.facebook.com/pg/Belair-Photography-114175305446650/posts/?ref=page_internalJust keep scrolling down the page to view photos of the vintage vans, classic cars, Chiltern trip, gordon stephens garagabilla and other trips we did while at the Vintage Van nationals. Congraulations to the committee on organising such a great event again..Denise and Barry.

Hi all, One of the activities during the Nationals was an outdoor cinema showing of the film "The Big Steal", thanks to Brenten who provided the projector and those who stoked the campfire to keep us warm. The film is a beauty and, if you haven't seen it, features a nicely restored vintage Don caravan, and a car chase with the Don on tow. Fortunately no caravans were injured in the making of the film! Moparman has done a bit of a search for some of the music used in the film and discovered a Youtube video clip featuring one of the songs sung by Phil Judd and Tim Finn (of Split Enz fame). In the clip Phil and Tim are shown singing in and around the caravan from the film, and the clip also shows some of the scenes from the film which include the Don and the chase. Worth a watch! The best vision of the van are in the last few seconds of the video. Nice one Moparman. Thanks. Don Ricardo

We found a copy at our son's place on the way home and borrowed it.
Watched it again during the week and had another good laugh.

A huge thank to all the organisers and our friends. You have made myself and Peter feel very welcome.
Unfortunately Peter has only a couple of weeks left but loved seeing all the caravans. He now appreciates what ours will look like.
Thank you once again and I will be back soon.
Kerri and Peter.

We arrived home today from Wangaratta via the long way home. We started off leaving Canberra on 15 April on the High Country Tour followed by the nationals in Wangaratta for the week then set off around the bottom of South East Victoria via Alexandra, Healesville, Rosedale, Lake Tyers, Marlo, Delegate. Firstly the High Country Tour was very enjoyable with a great group of people (12 vans) whose company I enjoyed immensely. As Vicki stated at the presentation dinner, there were some challenges and a great time was had by all. Charlottes Pass was one of the challenges with sleet and gale force winds but it didn't deter Graeme from ticking off one of the items on his bucket list and playing in a bit of icy snow. We even had The Man From Snowy River (aka Paul) pay us a visit and crack the whip to get the tardy tourists on the road to Wangaratta Secondly Wangaratta was full on catching up with people, I felt like I was on the go all the time but still missed speaking to quite a number of forum members. Congratulations go to everyone who contributed to making the event a success.Having been to some of the daily tour locations we headed off to see some of the silo art in Benalla and smaller towns along the backroads. The art is stunning and I would recommend a visit if you are back in the area. (Click on the images to enlarge)
After all the activity getting to Wangaratta and during the Nationals it was great to head off with Graeme from WA and Tooleyau for a relaxing couple of days checking out the bakeries, motor museums, beaches and other offerings in Victoria on the way home. The weather turned for the worse this morning so we cut and run home before it set in. A great time all round with a great bunch of people. I really believe that the Nationals are great but the tours to and from are the icing on the cake. Koala

This is just a few photos of the Shed visit from my perspective The Robinson Family gave me permission to have a bit of fun & use their original Sign artwork to decorate the shed. I thought maybe 20 likeminded people might want to visit, WOW ! A bit of Van Graffiti. I intend to keep this sheet of ply, it was just an idea & I like it. There's a few names there that makes me wish I had spent more time seeking you out, like for instance, Clipper 1957 from Coolum Beach, one of my favourite beaches other than Noosa Heads, also Main Beach Surfers Paradise. We also had our Don 140 on our block at Peregien for some time. I intend to visit the next Nationals so I can catch up with as many as I can, glad for a quick chat with Al, Franklin 1, who has been such a help to so many, and there's lots of others I haven't mentioned here, hopefully we will get the chance sometime in the future. Absolutely loved the cars parked around our place & could have talked all day about these, (forget about the "Dons") There's plenty of other photos for myself as a reminder of an unforgettable day thanks everyone that came. This magnificent Glass Plate was presented to me from Austi 125 (Al) and Don Ricardo the day after the Shed visit. It is highly valued and greatly appreciated thank you both, surely it will be framed & hung on the Shed wall as a momento of the 25th April 2018 visit. We really missed "Firefighter" , I was really looking foreword to having him visit on this occasion, he was the first person I showed a photo of the lost Family van at the Bendigo Swap that year. Pity Cobber couldn't make it this time too, he has been instrumental in helping me with my "Don" collection A special thanks to Don & Dona Ricardo for their help during the day, also to Wal & Anna, it was fun. All this surely wouldn't have happened had it not been for Mark Taylor & this Forum, & him pointing out many leads to the vans & "Don" bits that I now have. Thank you Mark. Now I can get to messing the shed up again, it is far too clean & tidy at the moment. Surf Tragic

Gidday Surf Tragic
Thankyou so much for opening your shed up to us and the hospitality you showed us. It was truly great to see and hear about your journey. Firefighter was stoked that you were prepared to open your shed and share your work to all of us.
