Like the title says, 67 BARAVAN She's a bit rough, and the hole in the window screams water damage but she can be fixed. still got the original appliances These are just some pics after I moved it. I'll give it a quick clean and get some better ones. Stay tuned.....

In regards to the tow vehicle my situation requires 4x4. I wanted something 'period correct' but didn't want a Land Rover or Landcruiser. If you have ever ridden in either of those early 70's models you'll understand why. It was a challenge but I came up with something, Mine has the rare twin headlight. Released in 1971 in USA, the Series 1 ran till 1980 and never changed shape. In 1979 Holden released it into the Australian market as an ISUZU KB40 to compete with Toyota's 'HILUX' which was released later that year. For whatever reason the model was not popular and sales numbers were low, making them quite rare today. The Series 2 came in 1981 re-badged as the Holden 'RODEO'.

Here is an old ad for the 'ROYAL' (image source 'History of Baravan') My layout is the 2SL which stands for 2 Singles Lounge, but I'm going to change it. I want to keep the van as original as possible, but by the same token it needs to be functional and suit my needs. I'm going to convert to the LD (I assume means Lounge/Dining) but instead of a lounge it will be set up as permanent bed. A King single mattress will fit perfectly and the small dining area just as you enter the van is more practical.

Hi Digger Also a Baravan owner - still haven't started on my resto yet! My first driving lesson was in a little red LUV at the age of 7 I think it was - complete with motorbike and 44 on the back with creek crossings and rocky hills to climb I've been looking for one for the last couple of years - slim pickings out there! Cheers....
