G'day Jane, This is where Booboo really earns her keep! A warm doggie down the bottom of the bed is heaps better than a hot water bottle!! Plus, just focus on John Strugglebrook getting around in his footy shorts, and your brain will tell you it must be summer! cheers, Al.

It was in the minuses last year! John is a lot tougher than us soft city folk.

I thought I had booked, but when I rang up Carol at the Caravan Park, I didn't have a booking. Yikes. I am now on a waitlist for a powered site. Hopefully I don't have to succumb to a non-powered site and freeze! Jane OMG Jane, can't believe that they are full. Hopefully a powered site will come through for you. I'd hate for you to freeze or miss out! Mon

Im a bit devastated to say that Shaun and i won't be bringing up our now one and only Vintage Van to Xmas in July, Our beloved Sunliner is having a mini-makeover and unfortunately it's taking a bit longer than expected This weekend we are going to the farm to see how our classic 1980 Millard is to see if we can bring it up. I don't really want to, but it's the only other van we have now. After this trip it will be put up for sale. Ill let you know how we go. Monica.

Oh Monica, so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed the Millard will be up to it! But the main game is the 60th anniversary of the Sunliner at Tuncurry, I'm sure Bluebird will be looking sweet for that.

Hi all,
We have brought the Millard home and all is good, but I have decided not to bring her up for the weekend.
I have rang Carol and we've booked into a cabin for our stay.
This means that there is a Powered Site up for grabs if someone wants it.
Jane and Justin and John and Pam, I did ask Carol if I should let you knows know about the site being available and she confirmed that you all had a powered site already and asked me to let you know.
See you all soon,
Mon

OK everyone, only a couple more sleeps before we all transend apon Murrundi caravan park for the annual Christmas in July. As always hosts Carol and Doug will make us all most welcome. Last tally was 18 sites booked and a few cabins ,some by car club people to check out our pride and joys and hopefully get the old van bug. From Thursday arvo I will have a pot of stew or soup on the stove in the cosy camp kitchen which everyone is welcome too. We have entertainment on Saturday night from 7 til 9 with Scone lass Chloe Hall singing up a storm, if you were there last year you will know she is pretty darn good. Murrurundi has 3 good pubs for counter lunches a great park where if you are keen you can thread the eye of the needle walk for a great veiw of the area, likewise back down the road at Burning Mountain. There is a good tourist centre with cafe and shops and gallery around town.If you are into tarten the Highland Games are on at Aberdeen on Saturday, look up their web site if interested. There is also many drives such as out to Nundle or maybee Quirindi to Bob`s Shed or the rural museum. Wingen where ther is a big Antique and old wares store. You can do all these things or be like me and sit around and relax and drink beer and tell yarns . Remember the older we get the better we were. As always the vintage caravan retorer and purveyor of old pommey bikes formally known as Reddo will be holding court.
PSK and junior organiser JD.

A big thanks to John and Pam for organising another great weekend at Murrurundi. Those of you who didn't attend this event missed out on the following breathtaking adventures:
1. A winter wind that cut through you like a sharp knife. Brrrr!! And still JD Strugglebrook got around in his footy shorts! 2. Feasting on hot soup, stew, and pancakes put together by various MKR chefs. (or maybe they were just vintage tucker-mucker-uppers ) 3. A rip-roaring night on Sat night with a concert in the camp kitchen by a great young lady singer named Chloe. (...Alice...Who?...Alice! Who the ummm is Alice??!!) 4. Great entertainment on Sat night watching Reddo down nearly a whole bottle of scotch and still be standing at the end. 5. Even better entertainment late Sat night watching Reddo demonstrate how peas and carrots can be arranged to great effect on the lawn. 6. Winning one of the many valuable raffle prizes that Mr Strugglebrook put together for the Sat night event. 7. Getting a jar of award-winning tomato relish made by MKR honorary-chef Pam. (it is to die for! )
and... 8. Being with a great bunch of friendly people in vintage caravans. (Where the bloody hell WERE you?? )
ps. In 2016 I paid $10 to sponsor a brick, in the Vintage Caravans Forum's name, for improvements to the caravan park. This year I did the same, so another acknowlegment plaque will be fixed in position to show our Forum's support for the fabulous hospitality shown to us by park owners Doug and Carol (and our sincere best wishes to Carol as she fights her way through a current medical situation).
cheers, Al.

well, another murrurundi over and done with.
this one saw one or two new memories created - the most memorable being reddos attempt at drinking a full bottle of "the johnnie" and failing miserably.
well, to be true, the drinking of the bottle was a success but the ability to walk and talk afterwards was a complete failure.
in the words of the captain in cool hand luke, "What we've got here is failure to communicate,"
anyhow, thanks again to john and pam for all their time and efforts to make it another memorable one.
geoff 'n jude
ps - it seems after reddo's efforts he has been demoted to junior bater and john is the new master.

The entertainment on Saturday night was the highlight of the weekend but who would have thorght the supporting artist formally known as Reddo would provide so so many highlights that even spilled over into the garden. His backing vocals for Chloe must have been inspiring for her. For an amature barmen as myself so many helpful hints on drink mixing, just the knowing of when to add the dry to the scotch or just skull straight down, awe inspiring. The soft shoe shuffle in work boots on the table even had our host Doug`s full attention. The truely inspiring thing for me was even after putting on a once in a life time performance to get up Sunday morning and help Doug with the gardenning disapateting a vegetable/scotch compost. I now have a true indication of the effort reqired to be a Master.
JD still a Juior Bator.
