this years event was blessed with beautiful weather ,before during & after .vintage vanners began rolling into town as early as Monday and every day leading up to the weekend which meant that they had plenty of time to check out the many sights and attractions of the lockyer valley.the managers at the laidley showground made sure that every vanner was settled in their own vintage van area. on Saturday the town awoke to another beautiful day with dozens of garage sales,a swap meet ,craft markets, retro fashion and bric a brac markets a car boot sale and a general market area.most of these venues were run by community groups and clubs as this event is there major fund raiser for the year . At midday the main streets in town were closed and 150 of the best classic and show cars rolled in,some of which were towing vintage vans earlier in the day .soon after the entertainment began with the zephyr project and little billy who kept the dancers on the floor until 8pm. sunday dawned with the open house show for the vintage vans, all 43 of them ,up from16 last year.the judges chose the 16 ft .Sunliner belonging to Clyde and Barbara from Hervey Bay as best in show and Vincent's viscount as runner up. the rest of Sunday was packed with more markets ,my Sunday Drive car show, live band -blue suede, and garage sales.most vans left Sunday pm but those that stayed on were there for my wife and i to check out one more time. my wife was really inspired and told me to have our 69 debonair ready for next years event which we plan to make bigger and better. On behalf of the organizers and the Laidley community ,we thank you for being part of our event and there will be info about next year on the forum ,facebook and website early next year . once again many thanks until we meet again.

1979 Chrysler Regal Wagon (Mello Yello) 1957 Zephyr sedan (Mary Lois) 1959 Zephyr wagon (Harriet) 1970? 12' Coronet (Lillibet)
Just heard that Chrome and Clutter will be going ahead again this year!
It is apparently going to be all based at the showgrounds this year which will make it great for Vintage Vanners

This is such a great event which we have been attending over the last couple of years. So glad to hear it is going ahead after the earlier cancellation. There was a fantastic turn out of Vintage Caravans last year so hope we can achieve that again especially since all the festivities will be right on our doorstep and not forgetting the town garage sale bargains!! To book in ring Delray at the Laidley Showgrounds on 07 54651284 (Vintage Caravan Group).
PS: Dates are 22nd, 23rd -24th June.

Just had a call from Delray from the Laidley showgrounds. She rang to let me know that there will be a charge of $10 for the Chrome&Clutter entertainment, on top of our camping fees. Sounds very reasonable to me

Hi Sandi
We're booked in for the weekend. Sounds great. Dalray said 15-20 vans have booked already. They're recreating a Drive in movie on the Friday night with the main feature being Vanishing Point. Yes, we actually will be in our cars so the dawgs can come too & get up to mischief in the back seat!
See you there!
