It's only 4 WEEKS until the start of the
2018 Vintage Caravan Nationals Wangaratta, NE Victoria Friday, 20 April to Friday, 27 April
There are still a couple of powered and unpowered sites available, so... if you've been tossing up whether or not to join us or not, but weren't sure if you could still get a site, get in quick and give the Painters Island caravan Park a call to book in now. [But please note that at this point, the park will only accept bookings for three nights or more.]
More information about the Nationals and how to book here
The PROGRAM for the Nationals is posted here Anyone with a vintage or classic caravan is very welcome to attend the Nationals for all or part of the week. AND you don't have to own a vintage or classic caravan to join us. Book a cabin, join in all the action and get inspired by the sight of all those vintage caravans in one place.
If you have any questions, or need further information, post on this thread or PM Moparman, Ralphndi or Don Ricardo

A very special THANK YOU to the oraganisers of The VV Nationals - sorry we couldn't stay longer but what a great week long list of activities. Sensational to see all the wonderful vans and fantastic that Victoria was so well supported with interstate caravans and their enthusiastic owners. Liking the road trip blogs/photos from those who had travelled and will travel home. it was about both the journey and the destination! New and old friends. See you on the road. Safe travels. Looking forward to hearing where we will all meet up again in 2020 and before. Keep Vintage vanning!

And thanks especially to firefighter - a VV legend and inspiration who couldn't be with us but who remains with us as we travel - see you on the road as we may pass with an acknowledging gesture of those raised fingers on the steering wheel - and safe travels until our paths cross again.

Hi all, As all of you who attended the 2018 Vintage Caravan Nationals in Wangaratta and many others of you will be aware, the funds raised from a couple of activities at the Nationals are donated to charity. The main charity fundraisers are the informal raffle held amongst attendees, and the auction. In addition to these activities, any surplus from the sale of pennants and stickers, and the Nationals Dinner are also donated to charity. Not being a club or formal organisation, at this stage we don't have the capacity to set aside any surplus for future forum purposes, hence the additional donation. As a result of the above, the following donations were made on behalf of everyone who attended the Nationals. Thank you to everyone who contributed. It is great to know that not only are we able to have a whole heap of fun at the Nationals, but we are also able to help others who don't necessarily have our advantages or good health. Raffle proceeds and surplus from sales - $1,667.70 donated to Challenge Cancer Support Network (which supports kids with cancer):As many of you know, the main prize for the raffle was a beautiful caravan-themed quilt hand sewn by Gay Tangey (wife of Firefighter) and Di (one half of Ralphandi). You may like to read the letter received from Challenge which specifically acknowledges Gay, Geoff, and Di. Part of auction proceeds - $2,000 donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service:Part of auction proceeds - $600.50 donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation, Hamilton NSW (raising funds for brain cancer research):The charities which received donations in 2018 were suggested by forum members, including Firefighter before he passed away last August. Apologies for the delay in posting the receipts. They were only received after Dona Ricardo and I had left for a two month sojourn overseas towards the end of May. Don Ricardo

Hi all,
With the 2018 Vintage Caravan Nationals well and truly over, all of the threads concerning the arrangements for that event have been moved to the 'Vintage Caravan Runs & Events' section, and the '2018 Vintage Caravan Nationals' section has been removed.
However, photos from the Wangaratta Nationals - and all the previous Nationals - can be found in the 'Vintage Vanners Hall of Fame' section.

Any little hints about 2020 venue? 😜 Hi Bert66, No not yet. A couple of possible locations are being investigated. In the meantime the working group has also been having a little break after Wangaratta, but will be reconvening soon. Quite a few people have offered to help with organising the 2020 Nationals, which is much appreciated. The working group will also be calling for further offers of assistance in due course.
