Booked for our fourth National and will keep up the tradition of a new caravan for each Rally. Leaving home the 1938 Paramount and 1947 Don. Be on Site 112b with our latest - a 1956 Coronet. Won't be in the Austin Princess, will be in our Colorado this time. Hope the weather can be organised to carryon like it has for the next few weeks!!!

Hi Everyone,
I am not sure if I will make it. Last weekend I took the twin window Don to Yarrawonga and when I got home I noticed that I have quite a bit of differential movement between my chassis and the body and broken front floor tiles. I think I may have a cracked chassis......
Will look at it properly and be there if I can convince myself it is safe to tow the old girl, but if night I might not make it.
Cheers
Stewart

Hi Stooy,
That's bad news about the Don. Hopefully you'll get here, but in the end your safety and preservation of the van are probably the priorities.
If you come, it will be worthwhile having a chat to Surf Tragic on Wednesday's visits to his shed. I'm sure he'll be able to give you worthwhile advice based on his rebuild of several Dons.

Thanks Don Ricardo, Sadly I am flat out with work and house renovations which will see the Don get a new shed at the moment and don't think I can make it on Wednesday. Perhaps you could introduce me to him post the nationals and I could give him a call? Many Thanks Stewart

Drove to Painters Island caravan park today all the way from Melbourne to look at your vans as we could not make it on Sunday only to be told by the park manager that we could not come in and that’s you guys would not want us looking at your vans anyway! We have wasted a whole day because of this arrogant rude man and his wife,I’m sure you people would welcome visitors of the public especially when we have 2 old vans, but these managers are not doing your event any good at all, good luck with your day tomorrow and I hope they don’t scare away any more enthusiasts like ourselfs.

Terry and Linda,
That's just awful. We are so sorry and embarrassed that you had this experience when you arrived at Painters Island, and that we didn't get a chance to see you. It certainly wasn't our intention that any one should be excluded from visiting.
As you have indicated, Sunday is our main day for visits for the public, but sadly it appears that we hadn't indicated to the caravan park that some vintage vanners couldn't come on Sunday and therefore would be visiting on other days, and that they would be welcome to visit. We feel devastated that you came up from Melbourne especially to see all the wonderful caravans that are gathered here, all for nothing. If only we'd known you were here we certainly would have come and welcomed you.
Please accept our deepest apologies for what happened. I'm sure I speak for everyone at the Nationals when I say that. We will try and make sure that that it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Hopefully there will be another opportunity soon when we can welcome you and offer you the camaraderie and friendship that vintage vanners are known for.
Don Ricardo
