Some more pics... Found this wedged under the sink. The bed frame still works fine. What a shame all the mattresses are too far gone. They would have been a lovely combination of green vinyl and fabric. The annex. Not sure we'll ever use it so might put it up for sale. I'd rather have a custom awning. Love all these lights

They are flash lights, I've read where some of the other restorers have used lights bought from British rail carriages, the length's we would go to get the look.

I'd love the fridge too but Sth Gippsland is a long way from Echuca!

Agreed shesgotthelook but I'm thinking the fridge could hitch a ride with someone heading in that direction. Maybe something can be arranged for the Nationals? It's doubtful we'll be attending unfortunately but someone from Melbourne might be a willing courier.

While we work frantically on our Hilandale to get her ready for Rosebud Rockfest, the Wayfarer has received some attention thanks to a friend and is now almost completely gutted. My question is should we be bracing the sides /roof of the van before we proceed any further? I'd hate for the remaining cladding to buckle or collapse.
This is the biggest roof hatch I've ever seen 1.1m x 1.4m. Might be a good spot for a couple of lightweight solar panels...? Reconstruction of the van should proceed in earnest over the summer

Hi Lazy Glamper, The "worst case scenario" during demolition is shown in the series of photos in a thread on the Classic Caravans forum. See this post: ditzygypsy.proboards.com/post/39826/threadDo whatever is necessary to avoid that sort of thing happening. cheers, Al.

Mustang, I wouldn't want to steal Husky's limelight so I'll do whatever it takes not to let that happen 😂

Well, after a few false starts and getting side-tracked with the restoration of my 1977 York, we are now back in full swing with the ground up restoration of our Wayfarer. Starting with the chassis which is getting a thorough rust proofing, new drawbar and new axles, wheels & electric brakes. It certainly feels good to get going again on this one. Won't be ready for the Nationals but hopefully Sunny will make his debut at the next Gippsland Gathering... url=https://postimages.org/] [/url]
