More than a "bit" of work there cardygeorge! Lol Pop over the border for us and get Di and Greez of Dareton way to come along to - Di was working at Buronga CV park last we were up your way - they have a metal framed shell like yours and a shed full of some real beauties.

In a very rare case of I know those people, I'll do that! We helped them sell one of their bondwoods to another friend of ours. Haven't seen them for ages though

We are looking forward to Anglesea for early Christmas in November and Ol' Dadswells Bridge in September before that - have had a few 'towing issues' with Felicity - any advice about speed wobbles at 80 with a 10 ft van ? We are thinking oft springs and not enough forward weight? Looking forward to seeing you for Trivia at Bridgey in Feba bring your dogs, ahead of the not so dog friendly Nationals in Wang. Lol. We'll be at all of those....

...have had a few 'towing issues' with Felicity - any advice about speed wobbles at 80 with a 10 ft van ? We are thinking oft springs and not enough forward weight?... G'day Bert66, Do you have light truck tyres on the van? If so, what pressure do you have in them? If they are light truck tyres you should be running them at about 50 psi. I had trouble with our van wandering until I found out the tyres didn't have enough pressure in them. Put them up to 50 psi, and hey presto, the van never wanders (unless there's a really strong wind!). Don Ricardo

Pumped up the tyres and still wobbling - popped into Kyabram on our way back from Deniliquin with Flicka and picked up some vintage sway bars to try out - thanks for the guidance Don - work in progress. Short draw bar is probably the issue ....and cranky old Falcon. Hope you and Dona R well - thx again.

Popped out to Bridgewater today to check out how things are traveling. It's still 6 months away but wanted to make sure the new managers were on top of things. 25 or so booked in - Jackie is the new Veronica so if you are ringing to book in then ask for Jackie. We are looking forward to Dadswells and Anglesea before Bridgewater and of course the Nationals after that!
Any Trivia questions for our big trivia night at Bridgewater will be gratefully received....
here's one to start you thinking. "According to their official website in what year was the first ROMA Caravan built ?"
First correct answer by return post will win a bonus point for their team....
Give Jackie a ring and secure your site so as not to be disappointed.

We have been searching for elusive caravan parts as we renovate - have you been too?
Each Saturday Bert and Florence go to Garage Sales to seek them out - sometimes we have alittle win. Whilst renovating Amelie today Florence had an inspiring thought - we actually have a lot of bits and pieces that we have accumulated, somewhat wistfully, in the hope we may use them in future but the reality is they will just sit in our garage. She thought others may have similar bits and pieces that may otherwise not see future use.
Inspiration - Bridgewater Caravan Park " Out of your Garage" Sale !
When you come to Bridgewater for the weekend bring along those bits and pieces that you can part with, set up your stall outside your van on Saturady morning and make your day and someone else's with a sale or two.
Another event to make it a great weekend.

Sounds great - look forward to seeing you there Mama and Papa.
Not long to go now - just putting finishing touches on Trivia. Remember - same weekend as Newstead Swap meet and Maldon antique and collectables fair - lots to do.
Don't forget to bring those unwanted caravan and other vintage items for your "Out of your garage" sale stall.

Sorry to be bothersome with posts. There aren't many sites left apparently at the c. park ( which has 117 ). Given there has been a change of management since last year we are recommending you check your booking with the caravan park, particularly if you booked early, even if deposit paid, no panic intended but best to get the details right 3 weeks out given there appears to be an overwhelming response this year, and a modicum of confusion with some bookings. If you haven't booked do so NOW or you will miss out.

Hi Vintage Vanners, I thought you might like to see the great collection of caravans that gathered for the Bridgewater Vintage Van Extravaganza last weekend. Another wonderful weekend organised by the inimitable and always sartorially elegant and appropriate Florence (Alison) and Bert66 (Marcus). Well done to both of them and thanks for the effort they put into creating such a good time for all. Dona Ricardo and I couldn't take our van because of another commitment, but we did shoot across to Bridgewater on Saturday and grabbbed some photos. There's quite a few, so sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the show! I wasn't able to get everybody's name, and don't always know what people's forum names are (when they have them), so apologies in advance where names are missing or are incorrect. First up, Peter & Sharon's 1964/5 Baravan: Franklin Premier: Damien and family's 'not Franklin' bondwood caravan: The story behind this caravan is that it was rescued from a house that had been sold, and Damien has refurbished it. When Damien went to register it, the VicRoads official refused to do so unless it had a brand name on it, so Damien stuck the Franklin badge on it - problem solved! Damien wonders if the van was home built, but I am inclined to think it was probably built by one Victoria's smaller manufacturers, most probably in the second half of the 50's. The bay window is distinctive and may help to identify the van. The external wheel arches are not original, and have been made bigger to make it easier to take the wheels on and off. Any ideas who may have built the van? Mel and Bella with their Carapark Zestline Standard: Samuel's 1976 Viscount Royal "Purple Reign": Teardrop "Franklie": An early 70's Viscount Ambassador, owned by a couple who just happened to be staying at Bridgewater for the weekend and were surprised to be surrounded by vans the age of theirs! Frances' Vacation: Loretta chatting with Dona Ricardo beside her Sunliner: Vintagevangirl's unidentified van: An interesting feature of this van is that employs the same styling front and back. There has been discussion previously on the forum on the origins of the van, without any conclusions being reached. If anyone has any ideas about who may have built it, Vintagevangirl will be interested to hear. Carolyng's Don 140: Early 70's Sandrover Mini with mini wheels: Emma & Oliver's Hilandale: Beautiful little bondy: Coronet's van when they don't have their Coronet - an early 70's Travel Home which has been on some awesome journeys with them: Peter & Yvonne's 1969 or 1970 Viscount Ambassador: Annesfx's Rowvan: Michelle's amazing Carapark Ten-Nine: Wal & Anna's Olympic Debonair: A neat little classic Franklin: 1969 Viscount Ambassador: Greg's Wanda branded Franklin: Dennis & Sandra relaxing with their 1957 Phoenix: Chris & Raelene's home-built van: Don's Clipper: More to come... Don Ricardo
