Hi all, I just had a thought, maybe if someone out there in V.C. land has seen a folding table the same or similar to this one, maybe just maybe they could tell me what make of van they were used in. It fits exactly in between the 2 rear seats to make the bed base. It's frustrating having a van for a couple of mths & still none the wiser as to it's make, maybe it' home made as I can't find anything to I.D. it. Heres hoping. Thanks Kingy

My guess would that the table has just been made up to fit where it does between the seat rails and is not of any particular type or brand.
You can buy the folding legs as general hardware items and fit them on any table top you want.
The edge moulding looks like stock aluminium extrusion either nailed or screwed around the edge of whatever the tabletop is made from. What is the top material? A veneered board of some type?

Hi jim Your probarly right in what you say, after i sent that post i woke up(eventually) that the table top is not really a good match with the bench top etc.(pink against grey?) You would think origanally they'd be the same colour.Nevermind i'll keep trying Thanks Jim

Hey Kingy My fairway van has a brass plate on the draw bar indicating Ajax sheet metal co. This mob made C/V chassis and sold them to who ver was building vans at the time. Mine is "128". perhaps they might have done away with the brass plate later on and just punched an "A "to Indicate Ajax then the serial number. Bloody lot of chassis though aint it. 7099 Reddo

Hi Reddo,
Col Patterson told me that TG Paterson folded up the sections for Ajax Sheet Metal and that Ajax supplied chassis' to Atlantic Caravans among others.
It will be interesting to have a look at your van at Munmorah and see how it compares to the Atlantics.
Our Atlantic doesn't have any sort of identifying plate anywhere. Maurie, what about yours?
cheers

HI GROOVERS , I know how you feel Kingy ! I was in I.D wilderness with my little Atlantic van for a couple of years until G.M Day 2001 . It was amazing how many people would come up to me and tell me it was this make or that make of van . I started to do my own little survey on the day to see how many times the same name came up . An old guy with a 1928 chev came past and said he spent his honeymoon in 1963 in exactly the same van , an Atlantic . He told me the van was 9'6" long , i allways thought it was 10' so for the first time , at the show , i put a tape over it . He was right 9'6" , good enough for me ! So Kingy hang in there as im sure there is an old bloke with a similar story about your van that you will bump into soon . REGARDS , MAURIE . p.s As Belinda suggested , like her Atlantic , there are no I.D markings anywhere on my van . Cheers ! .

Thanks Earlee & Mrfj55 I'm going to get in touch with previous owner ,i remember him saying the guy he got it off had somthing to do with the manufactures . The trouble is he could'nt recall exactly where he picked it up (in 2002), but he did remember when , so if i can go to the newspaper where he saw the add with an approx date i should be able to trace the add. & phone no. SIMPLE .
