many thanks to the sixteen vintage vans which attended the inaugural chrome &clutter retro festival<many towed by classic cars which later entered the show&shine>. the vans had an unofficial show happening at the showgrounds which .was visited by locals and town visitors.the weather was fine albeit a little cool. the town was visited by thousands of people who visited the swap meet ,garage sales and car boot sale. the show&shine was held in the afternoon /evening with 150 of the best classic cars for all to see .the evening show featured dragon dancers, rock n roll dance exhibitions, and jamie dunn & agro as mc . a band called twang entertained every body with the best rockabilly music till late in the night. sunday was fine with many people still visiting the garage sales etc.classic cars and bikes were still cruising around the town and we were still rocking at eagle rock cafe to the tunes of the band blue suede.overall the weekend was a success and a good time was had by all.................next year we will incorporate an official vintage van show with plenty of advertising and viewing times. date claimer ....chrome & clutter retro festival june 24 &25 2017. more info denise @eagle rock cafe 0754651099 or delray @laidley showgrounds 0754651284 once again thanks to all who attended and there will be more posts as we get closer to the next event

Denise (one of the organizers of the event) has said that if there is another great turn out of Vintage Caravans this year they will try to put us in a park closer to town next year. We would be able to camp there and be on display between certain hours (subject to council approval).

Hi All who are planning to attend this years Chrome & Clutter Festival,
Denise (organizer) has advertised on the Chrome & Clutter web site that the vintage caravans will be on display in the showgrounds on Sunday between 9:00am to 11:00am for anyone who would be happy to have their caravans open and on display for the public to look at. This gives us all the opportunity to still enjoy all the events on the Saturday as we did last year. With the change of program this year there will be events on the Sunday with the continuation of the garage sales, car boot sales, markets and entertainment in the main street. There will also be a classic car display at the I.G.A car park from 9:00am to 3:00pm so they are expecting that there will still be plenty of people around on Sunday. No doubt there will be people visiting the showground on Saturday as well but Denise has organized this set time on Sunday for those who want to put out a display, open your vans and perhaps stay around to chat. It is optional but they are trying to promote/build the vintage caravan side of the event so it would be great to give them our support.
See you there!!
