My childhood dog was a dachshund called Nero. What a breed they are. That faithful dog followed us all over the NW Tassy bush, until he was 14. TIP: keep his eyes clean they are prone to infection.

Well besides sanding I have been thinking ...a lot Many a happy hour( ) sitting in the van just thinking Finally stripped out the van and added extra insulation after running extra wiring through ceiling Added a radio , hiding nicely in cupboard
Added holes for led lights , extra powerpoints and speakers I'm good with holes ...not too much thinking took time out to smell the daisy's gave the dog a bone to keep him occupied !! real bones in Tassie , no wimpy mainland bones worked on sliding bed base and porta potti storage lots of real thinking here
then, back to thinking .....again so much thinking , in fact my brain is beginning to hurt Then decided to phone Akeepsake ... and passed my headache on Try it sometime, works a treat . PM me for his mobile number cheers Murray

Rolly is gorgeous. We need to have a puppy playdate. After our much loved dog passed away in January, I said to the kids "that's it, no new pets for a while". Two weeks later we were at the airport picking up our new puppy!!! Hence, not much work has been done on my van either.

Hope new puppy is fitting in well, or you are fitting in with it! Regarding your sliding bed, we will be demolishing a van from the late 50s soon, very similiar in the bed construction. Hope to put pics up of the van before demolition. It has been built around and cannot be removed. cheers, Heather

Hi Murray,
Thanks for saying I'm on a roll with Sunliner chassis numbers - it's a pretty slow roll though. Except for the obvious YYMMAnnn format on the later Sunliners, the other formats are a bit hard to interpret.
All that aside, I think the TR number on your van is a VIN number provided by the motor registration branch (in Tassie?), and not a Sunliner number. But perhaps you already know that and are just testing me out...??

Well I finally got the sunliner finished .....just in time for the nationals. Took a long time to sort out a spraypainter and after months of filling and sanding (ruining 2 sanders in the process though still under warranty) was able to take to the shop. picture hostingFitting the windows was quite a challenge as I used sikaflex sealer /adhesive instead of rubber sealer. This was how it was, so I assumed, wrongly it was originally that way. They have fortunately stayed in. Had to purchase pre-moulded curved windows from Sydney and cut them down as sunliner windows are 4 different sizes. Had time to take 'Ruby-Sue' away for a shake-down trial to find any minor bugs.
Had time for one showing before departure on the 'Spirit' We were the first lined up for the 'spirit' !! Technically this is the return journey Cheers Murray and Raelee

Hi Murray, I really love your van and the work you have done is great. I really like the rear lights you have on your van, Are they original to your van or did you buy them and put them on yourself? Monica

Bluebird, The rear lights are aftermarket. Some owners have done them vertical or horizontal so I decided to have them slightly of vertical in line with the body PM for more details Cheers
