After cleaning the van out and giving it the once over, my wife and I have decided we will keep the van for the moment and do it up ourselves. I had forgotten just how clever and “cute” the design is and the simplicity of them. I would ask the moderators to either shift the post or delete it, whichever is the correct thing to do. For the ones that sent PM’s, many thanks and I will post more photos along the way. Regards David

Hi Mens442, That's great news! The Propert is such a clever design, and yours will look great once its had a bit of 'spit and polish'...or maybe just a bit more than that. I'll move your thread to the "Members' Photo Album" section, then when you're ready you can add to it as you restore your van. We'll look forward to hearing about it. Don Ricardo

No chance you might reconsider and sell it? If so I'd love to buy it!

Well nearly 5 years on and the Propert has sat in my shed and not had a thing done to it. So now it I has to go to a new home. I need guidance on what it is worth. The van was brought by my father from a mining company based in Herberton far North Queensland. They had two of them and used them for their exploration teams. My father brought it in the early 1970’s. Depending on its value I have an option of donating it to the Herberton historic village where it could be displayed and restored in it’s original environment. www.historicvillageherberton.com.au/Thanks for any guidance and this time it unfortunately will go to a new home. Regards David

Putting a price on the van. $1,000. Yes a labour of love required but the inside is pretty much original. Original mattress in a floral vinyl as per the propert factory that has been stored in seperate shed so in good condition. Thanks and regards David.

Seriously, I have one... I was low balled at 12k by a guy who should have known better... It did help get the insurance company raise the value, but I'm still not sure if get another one for that... Can we see inside please? If it's original (like mine) they're the most expensive... Because everyone tinkers with a Propert. 🤣🤣 There's a local legend about the 500 dollar Propert.. decades ago that was cheap... If that's all you want for it go the museum option... With their sweat equity it will be a great asset for them. If I wasn't about to leave town for work I'd come and get it myself at that price... Penny would love a friend.
