From "Plans for Caravans" The Age: Keith Winser Publications 12th edition 1967
Have a galvanised iron shell made for this, with an ice carrier tray at the top and two shelves where needed below. The idea is to slip this shell in neatly between the side uprights, but before doing so put in two 1/2 in. thicknesses of caneite as insulation at the bottom, sides and back, and when the shell is pushed in the top caneite can be put in through the drawer openings.
Push in the shell and nail the outer edges to the uprights, also top and bottom, using brass nails.
A piece of 3/8 in. plywood makes a good door, laping over about 3/8 in. all round. Sheet the inside face with thin galvanised iron, and where the door meets use a rubber seal.
