We bought some new window clips for our 1969 Viscount cause the old ones kept breaking in transit (they were the originals). I installed them using a rivet and checked them. On the Glendon run two sets of them came off - not fun looking back to see windows flapping. I have installed another two sets and tightened the ring that holds the clip to the mount. Anybody got any other hints on what could be causing them to pop off and what I can do to fix it more securely? Paul (Connolly aka paul c)

Hi Paul Your clips must be being subjected to some undue pressure to break even new ones. Are they locking reasonably easily??? Perhaps you may need to consider fitting small barrel bolts. If there is nowhere to fit them internally, then you may need to fit them externally without them looking too out of place. That's all I can suggest. Others may have some better ideas. I've not struck such a problem even with my pre vintage vans. Cheers Ray

Ray, took the van out for the weekend and no problems with the clips. Guy at Camecs' advised that the small brass ring at the back of the clip needs to be tightened before installation - he pushed it down with his finger when he was talking to Susan and seemed surprised that it had so much give - at that point he advised tightening. Have now checked all clips are tightened. Thanks for you input.
