the last 2 sheets of ply are done ( on the back ) now we are on to the underside ..then the roof will be next ..brenten and robyn only 125 days until the nats

The first photo shows the last 2 sheets of plywood on the back..the next 2 photos shows robyn under the van with a wire brush on a drill cleaning dirt and rust off. ..what a gal

10 mm polyurethane foam all over the furness roof
650 grams of fiberglass cloth over the foam....next will be the canvas for the original look

i had to glue multple peices of foam to fill up where the roof had sunken down then 10mm over the whole roof it should work as a sound , heat ,and cold insulator plus it now has a nice curve to it and 100% water proof.....brenten

Brenten has now put the canvas on and painted it with Solar water base house paint

next will be filling the nail holes in the new hardwood walls and then sanding then 2/3 coats of paint ....brenten

there is a piece of wood front and back that covers the edge of the canvas that the window slides in.. on the sides there is hidem banding to cover the canvas thats how it was originally done if you go back to the very first photo it can be seen ...brenten

i had the axle made in tullamarine (vic) its 45 mm solid with a 4" drop with dextron elec brakes with manual hand brake ...brenten

Hi Brenten & Robyn, Top job with your resto. I showed the wife the pics of Robyn under the van thinking she might want to join in on ours and she said I was dreaming! Time for some updated pictures of the progress. We have a similar pattern on the seats of our Unidentified but in blue. Are your seat cushions one sided only? Ours have a hessian type backing so there is no flipping them over. Still trying to work out who made our van as it seems to have design aspects of a number of SA makers. Keep up the good work.

hi mustang .yes it is a fx /fj door handle ..the van didnt have a handle and with the connextion with early holdens i thought it was fitting .. robyn
