It's been a busy month for our little Harris van with 3 quick weekend trips away. The first trip was back to the Yorke Penninsula and back to the previous owners to show them the work we had done, while there we also took a look at a couple of other vans they where planning on selling and some how decided it would be a good idea to take on a another caravan resto in the form of a Franklin Regent. Next up was a quick trip to Chookarloo at Kuitpo forest we spent 2 nights with some good friends for their daughters birthday. It was a bit of a wet and windy weekend but the we came out of it relatively leak free expect for a few drops around the front centre window but we think this is more to do with the window not sealing properly than something more sinister and some condensation on the windows which we might look at some additional venting to help combat this in the future. And finally, we spent the weekend just gone at Renmark, this time for the husbands nieces birthday. the weather was perfect and besides there being some tree removal happening at the sites across from us when we turned up it was a great weekend. We just wish that we had realised that there was a vintage van display happening at Morgan the same weekend and we may have taken a detour while we where that way. Next week we bring home the above mentioned new project so for the near future any trips away may be far a few between, but hopefully not for too long.

Here we are a year after my last update on the Harris and as expected the trips away have been unfortunately far and few between with only and handful of trips made in the last 12 months. Since our our last update we made a quick weekend trip in July down to Deep Creek, this included taking an unplanned detour down a muddy dirt road which saw a few hairy moments and the van with the front covered in thick mud. Next up was a trip to Meningie in October with the vintage and classic caravanning group which was the first outing for the new tow car, and is always a great weekend. fast forward to March this year and we displayed the van at the caravan and camping show (which saw us purchase a new camper trailer while we here there whoops!) and we we met and spoke to so many people who either have or want to get a vintage van which was lovely. Then we where lucky enough to be able to display at the Clipsal 500 for the 4 days which was a really great weekend and we will be sure to do it again in the future. And the final trip trip in the last 12 months was back to Nuriootpa once again with the Vintage and classic caravanning group which as usual, was a great weekend filled with plenty of great Vans to wonder through. and now the van is all wrapped up for winter in the yard but hopefully we start making some more regular trips before long.

Well the inevitable has happened. After much discussion and deliberation we decided that with out major modifications (which we couldn’t bare to do) due to the kids getting too big to share the drop down single bed but still too little to sleep outside in a tent by themselves that it was time to sell the Harris Van. The new owners came and picked it up during the week and are headed for for many more exciting adventures. 2019-02-06_02-11-15 by in.kognito, on Flickr I know it’s in good hands, but damn, I’m going to miss that little caravan.
