G'day Mark, Now let's be clear..... we're talking about the FX and she's still running on six volts..... right? And when she gets hot the starter motor sounds as though it's only got three volts trying to turn it, at other times it works OK.. right ? And this is an ongoing problem and people have had a go at fixing it but it's still unreliable ? Find a good auto electrician who is prepared to remove the field windings and re-wrap the insulation around the individual coils. The insulation stuff they used in the old days becomes brittle and when the temperature rises the copper in the field windings expands and it is possible for some of the coils to touch the adjacent coil thereby reducing the magnetic field available to spin the motor. I had this done on my FJ......... 13 years ago?? and she has been A OK ever since. Of course with six volts there is never much in reserve so everything else has to be kept in top condition.......... but you already know that eh? If it costs a fortune to do and doesn't work..... don't blame me.......... on the other hand Cobber

Hey Mark Perhaps Shiloh is useful for parts.... the sink .... the interior lights?
Reckon people must have thought they had been transported back in time when seeing those three Holdens rolling down the road
Great restorations Keep up the good work
Cheers Atog
