Hi Mark & Glenda
Great you can come! No probs re numbers for dinner on Sat nite, we have 4 dropouts & now 4 to replace them with yourselves & Bob & Sharon. Still 48 adults so let me know by tomorrow if any of you other SEQers want to come.
Members of Bob & Jacqui's car club may come on Saturday for s Show n Tell. So that will be great.
As you can see in this thread people are bringing something to share for dinner around the fire on Friday night. So far there's offers of pumpkin soup, rice dish, pasta dish, casseroles, chilli dish & apple crumble for dessert. So just do whatever you can manage. See you all there!

Hi
The little lady and I will be arriving mid morning Friday, also bringing a bag of wood for the fire. We will be doing our own thing for dinner on Friday night. The weather is looking good and nice and cold, see you all Friday
Cheers

Hi all
Just checked with the Canungra Hotel. They would like it if we just handed them a bag of cash at the end of the meal. Guess it saves them having a lineup of 40 people on a busy Saturday night.
So I've made a list & I will collect everyone's camping fees & dinner tabs on Saturday afternoon. Just a reminder, it's $22/night/van & $22/person/dinner. So if there's 2 of you camping for 2 nights & both having dinner on Sat nite that means you pay me $88. Hoping you'll all have right money! Thanks guys.

Hi All, It was another great weekend, like we always seem to have at Canungra. One highlight for me was meeting Murray & friends, up from Taswegia. Had a good reminisce about old vans & posts on the Forum. It will good to catch up again at South West rocks Nationals. The dinner at Canungra Pub was pretty good value & quality, & with the free bus up & back it was even better Thanks Cathy for putting it together. Roll on next event in Northern NSW/ Southern Qld. We have a pretty good group of vintage vanners here, that have lots of fun.

Hi all
Well what a great weekend!
On Friday, 18 vans braved the cold & set up a wagon train around the fire in the elongated 44 gal drum made by Rob. Lots of firewood in a heap then at dusk, tables, music, soups, oven to reheat food, & fabulous food appeared. That's what I call teamwork!
Saturday night, as JBJ said, we all enjoyed the pub dinner as well. Nice to put our winter woollies on & be transported to night at the pub.
The new caretakers at Canungra are doing a great job, the creek areas are all mown to waters edge with bins & roads marked, scrappy areas cleared of undergrowth & sown with grass. Amenities have new floors & are clean with soap & paper towels. But best news is that a new Camp Kitchen is partway completed. Have a look at Jacquis last photo. It's a brilliant wooden building with currently enough seating for about 40 people plus room for extra chairs & tables. Canungra really has a good vibe now. The old caretaker did his best but apparently he couldn't handle things after his physical assault by a gang of youths. Garry reserved the top area for us & chucked out the winniebagies. Garry has lots of plans for camp kitchen including wood fireplace/BBQ/pizza oven!
Anyway to cut a long story short! Everyone enjoyed themselves so much, We've booked Canungra for next year for Xmas in July (there were no complaints about the cold) who cares when you have great company?
Dates will be 29,30,31 July. Garry will give us big area near loos & power to ourselves. He will give us sole use of camp kitchen for setting up Friday dinner. We've decided to have swap table on Sat Arvo in camp kitchen & also a bring n sell. Obviously there'll be more details as people contribute ideas in a separate thread! So mark it down in your diary! smiles
