Hi Blackened, I reckon Akeepsake is pretty close to the mark. The Millard Capri on Ebuy looks very similar in shape and design to the Millard Safari reviewed in the 1966 article posted by Akeepsake on the Millard thread in the Down History Lane section here. The only qualification I would add is that by 1967 Millard was selling vans with aluminium cladding with a baked acrylic enamel finish (a combination of white with various other colours). I don't know for sure whether all of their vans in 1967 came with that cladding, or whether some still had the unpainted cladding like the one on Ebuy, but I'm inclined to think that that makes the Ebuy van earlier than 1967 - say 1965 or 1966. There's a bit of supposition in that, but hopefully that will give you a reasonable indication... Don Ricardo

Thanks akeepsake and Don My original post should have specified that I was the seller. I've read elsewhere that the Capri was first made in 1966, which seems to fit in well with what you guys have suggested. Should the chassis ID be on the draw bar facing out? or facing in? I did have a look, but perhaps I didn't clear enough of the cobwebs away and missed it. Need to go have a closer look. There's a fair few coats of paint on it too.

Mine was a welded serial# on the top rail of the draw bar just behind the hitch on the lh side ( standing at the front looking at the van) Cheers

Thanks, found it. M5533. Staring my right in the face but I missed it the first time lol. Seems to put it at 66-67? Is there a definitive chassis v year list anywhere?

Hi Blackened, No, we don't have a definitive list of Millard serial numbers. The best we have is here - which is not very much!! But at least it's a start, and we can now add your number. Interesting comment that the Capri model was introduced in 1966. Hopefully someone can confirm that for you - and us. There are a few threads relating to Millard Capri on the forum if you put 'Capri' into the search window (see button on the menu at the top left of the Vintage Caravans banner heading. I note that a few refer to their serial number as well, so you might get some joy out of them. Don Ricardo

There is another thread on this forum relating to Millard Capri - M5642 : Millard Capri 1968 - Advice pleaseThe Hallstrom fridge warranty card in that van was dated 14-9-67. The van with chassis number M5533 would most likely be from the same time period, given it's only about 100 numbers earlier. cheers, Al.

Here's a link to the article that refers to some models and dates. Also, you guys have probably seen this video but I figured I'd post a link anyway just in case. It's an "Overview History of Millard Caravans" Cheers

Funny thing about that Time to Roam article, blackened... When I first read it a couple of years ago, I had a real sense of deja vu. When I compared the article with what I'd written on this forum way back in 2007, a number of sentences in the article were word-for-word with what I'd written. So much for the owner of that Millard having done some "research" - there was no acknowledgement of where he had sourced his information for the article. I think they call it plagiarism...or stealing. See what I wrote, and compare for yourself: Millard caravans - Nth Ryde, NSWcheers, Al.
