Gordon, Funny how things turn up aye ? That tow coupling is a 'Dymwood' coupling, same as the one Dayno generously gave me for use on the alley van. I've pulled it apart, cleaned it up, bought a new master cylinder and she's working fine now thanks Dayno I'll post photos somewhere soon ... they can be saved .....well, some can, I couldn't save the original one on the alley van Cobber.

I'm glad she cleaned up ok. How did you go with the hole in the bottom of the coupling? Did you by any chance do a photo shoot recently for roam magazine. Think I spotted your FJ and the driftwood. They are very photogenic

G'day Dayno Turns out that hole is part of the manufacture, it gives access to a pin that holds a ring in place that the spring bears against. Remove the pin and the shaft can be slid all the way out.... thing is, somebody has spot welded the ring in place, doesn't matter because there was no need to remove the shaft, so now the pins only purpose is to limit the travell of the shaft to the length of the slot..... all is good. It was very nice to meet you, the wife and the young daughter ..........thanks for calling in I see the same coupling on eBay didn't sell... pity Old Driftwood ? ..... she's a show off The photo you refer to was taken at Shell Harbour, a photographer took photos of all the vintage vans there and most of them were on their facebook site and in the magazine.
