ohhh, such a long time since we have done anything on the caravan, we transferred our energies to bathroom renovations which are frighteningly similar to caravan renovations. you know the one that goes like "we were just going to replace this bit but the wall came away in my hands and ooh look! black rotting framework, etc. etc.' so now the bathroom is well ventilated [read; no window, no floor] also hubs shortened one of his hingers on the bench plane. oops, ouch! i have returned to the caravan for light relief. we are needing to repair a section of aluminium cladding as well as a broken door lock [just the housing is broken, the lock works ok] and google helped me find ULTRABOND ALUMINIUM REPAIR RODS. the video looked possible for someone with little [no] experience but i have been unable to find any reviews by some-one who has actually used them successfully. could be too good to be true! i would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had experience with this product

"finished" is not even on the horizon Cobber. we have just resumed work on our P&B Safari and have at last re-glazed the windows. we used 3mm polycarbonate, which is great for the very curvaceous side windows [wider at the bottom than the top and lower at the front than the back] due to its flexibility. a small voice that doesn't want to be heard asks "could the flexibility cause a problem with the front windows when travelling at say 100 kph?" B tells me i worry too much. any voice of experience would be welcome though. so, we still have to finish replacing the frame at the back, rebuilding the kitchen and then putting the aluminium panels back on, plus about a hundred other things. i'd like to say another 6 months but depends on whether i can anchor B to the van with a short enough rope to stop him doing other [less important ] projects.

G'day Franni,
If you have re-glazed the front windows it seems to me you have done plenty since your last post on this thread. Don't worry about the Polycarbonate in the Windows, she'll be right, just be careful how you clean them, polycarbonate tends to scratch really easily. Don't be hard on "B" , it's easy to get distracted sometimes, I know, I've got one on the back burner at the moment too.
Cobber.
