Hi guys, Just bought my first caravan. YEAH!!! Need some help with regards to restoration. I think its 1940's BONDWOOD. I have never in my life renovated anything, so here goes my first project. So excited to get my hands on it…Him/Her. If anyone could me some advice from start to finish I would much appreciate it. It's my first time here on this great and very interesting forum so i hope the link works.
Model? Year? Owner/History??
It has: -No Stove (what did it look like, did it work??) -No water tank -No taps/pump -No Fridge/icebox -Light above sleeping area not working but looks good (one extra thing needs fixing) -Table is vey low/can't be turned into extra single bed (one extra thing on the to do list) -Cupboard space (under sink, seating, above sleeping and a wardrobe) not sure if others cupboards have been removed?
Colour scheme of the interior/exterior (thinking pastel-lemon/mint for exterior) Any thoughts
But very happy it has: +No water marks/leaks +Lights works(main light above sink inc 2x power points) +windows open/close +hatch opens/close +floorboards good condition. +sink (don't know what it's made from) Zinc? +door/flyscreen opens/closes/locks +sleeping area can be folds up into seat or double bed +No holes/damage to the frame +very, very solid caravan +tows well +bearing have been done +good wheels
Happy with my purchase & looking forward to working on my Bondy!! Dan

Gday Dan. Guess you bought this one? As for model/year/owner Seller said it was home built circa 1940s.Did he give you further info/did you ask? Why not.Anyways all of the internal fitments can be bought almost anywhere/any time.Sink is original gal - i note a name on it - can you tell us what it says? water tank - can be sourced e bay/gum tree, plastic is probably cheapest & if you have a look in our Suppliers section you`ll see a list for just about anything you need. The dining area - now this is workable - if you want to: you can extend the storage cupboards either side of the table a foot so they`re in line with the main door. That`ll give you a 3` wide approx bed.Extend or make a new table (sheet of 1/2" ply with a 2" x 1" frame around it)so it matches the depth of the cuboards & you got a decent size single bed/table for four.Hard to tell how "low" it is by the pic but could possibly be raised & re attached anyways.Storage/colour scheme is your call. You got to sleep/eat in it! So see what you come up with re ideas etc.
