Not sure if the laminate on the cupboards is original?

Really lovely & loads of potential. It certainly has it's own style & character.

Pretty sure "potential" means a lot of hard work!

Started work on gypsy rose today almost a year after bringing her home. Thought I might start at the front and work back. The windows are alluminium and open. I have not seen any other Gypsy Thirteen Two's with this type of window? Everything appears original both inside and out. I would be interested to know if the windows date this van earlier or later then others? Spent th day polishing and expect to spend a few more days doing the same. This is a before and after shot

Looks like you have done a bit of polishing Willow. I should have read your thread first up. I've also found the best results are by hand. Did you use purple polish on the sundowner? I used solvol autosol but thought for the next one I might give purple polish a go.

You know how you fall in love with a van and really do believe that little tiny bit of rot in the front corner isn't really that bad?? Well.....it is. I think my dream of "just a coat of paint" has just turned into a complete front end resto.

What about covering it with some stone guards ? All depends how bad it is of course! Cheers Andrew

Good idea Andrew
Next weekends job is to pock around a bit and see how bad the frame is behind it. The rot is behind pressed aluiminium facia and also appears on the side in the bottom front corner. The window we took out above the rot had been heavily siliconed so it would appear that there has been a significant leak in that corner.

Cimparing the brush strokes above that wood rot in the bottom corner on the front id say its pretty much definately the same van, buaght it from the blue mountains, now in newcastle, plan is to pull the whole front of and replace it over the next couple of weeks, I work interstate and dont get alot of time. also currently putting my engine back together in my FC holden. The roof has some bad cracks in the top layers of the ply and doesnt quite feel as firm as it should. Not sure if im going to replace it yet. There is also some rot in the hatch frame and a bit of the frame behind that rot in the pics, currently doing some research on how to do the repairs and rounding up tools and materials.

Also I think this van might be 60 or 61, it has a screen door and laminated cupboard doors, was fitted with a fridge but no longer there. If anyone has any parts I would be interested, a couple of the laminates are discoloured but most are pretty good.

Well that might mean its languished in the mountains untouched. Have you got it under cover? Could end up being a de-skin and re-skin over the new wood. The bottom front seems to be a tight fold or is it just tucked into the bottom board.
