Hey Everyone! As you all should know already from emails but just to be sure the news got through that after much to-ing and fro-ing we managed to get TAMS to allow parking of vehicles on the parklands. A big win and we're really glad that everyone spoke up about the importance of this aspect and that the forces that be smiled on us. Cheers, Beth www.longweekend.bighart.org

Jeff With some vans being part of their MOTLW theme presentations Beth is allocating specific sites to each participant, so if she knows you are coming, relax, she DEFINITELY has one set aside for you! jenno

Hi All When the tour reaches Tweed Heads on Sunday 6/10, it is planned all participants will visit Cabarita w/e Rally at 9 00am (dlst)on Monday and join for a photo shoot of all vans present Ladies and gents may like to dress in period attire, to turn back time for this caravan park that openned in 1962, and closed recently. So it is the last 'fling' for the park. I am planning to join the folks in the Bundaberg region and travel to Lismore with them, and then back home for further medical treatment. I can't wait to join in , as I get a daily report on how all are enjoying the journey so far. Cheers boblor

Dear Beth, I note in the press release that the author states "... vans will be open to the public, as owners welcome guests to strike up a conversation, have a cup of tea, scones, a beer maybe...".
This article implies that van owners are expected to supply refreshments to the general public while they have free access to climb in and out of our caravans.
I am happy to have my van on display for people to look at and admire, but I will be deciding who is allowed into my home away from home.
In regard to supplying refreshments, could you provide me with 3 cases of crown lager as I would like to be a generous host.
Michael

Yesterday Judy and I attended the launch by the ACT Chief Minister of the SPIN weekend in Canberra. A part of which is the Museum of the Long Weekend. Took both the 69 Franklin and 56 Buick along to add some quality to proceedings. There was a small piece on the local WIN news. At the launch we had; Dancing girls. Beth Sometimes the Museum of the Long Weekend organiser standing beside some handsome looking bloke. A couple of models dressed in recycled car parts, different but well done; More girls; And some ole girl with the same old guy. Looking forward to the event at the end of the month.
