G'day Michael, shouldn't be too hard to bring the ball weight back a bit, the spare alone is about 15kg so if you moved that to the back you probably lighten the ball weight by close to 20kg (not forgetting if its at the back it will act to lighten the ball weight) Kel, I don't reckon much would push your tow vehicles about; having it so light must make moving it about by hand a breeze. Not much to see in progress today, made a hidden stop so that the whole shebang wont fall out of the rails: Started with some plastic coated galvanised cable I had kicking about, made a couple of guides up so it would run easily Welded in to the inner tube Time to trim up to length Tacked in the end stops for now just in case I have forgotten something and need to pull it apart ... Works a treat and will be totally invisible when its finished. Also made up the stabilising foot and a little fancy handle has made a big difference as has the end stops - the stops keep it from arcing front to back to a large degree, and the foot stops up and down movement. Stable enough as it sits I reckon, but that might change when the cooker sits on top, I will leave my options open for some fold down legs if needed. Be better without as it makes for faster set up, and ease of moving the cooker back out of the way when not in use. Good to keep on it and get a few bits and pieces done, even if its not real exciting! Cheers Doug

Another day at it today, again not much to look at but its progress, all the little fiddly things take time but worth the effort. Made the cap for the swivel post And got the first of two travel latches completed Tomorrow (while some are partying in Kilcoy ) should get the second latch for the slide completed as its pretty simple and then on to mounting the gas bottle holders and regulator. Cheers Doug

Little bit more done, 2nd latch done to stop sideways movement ... Fixed up a small problem with the table: Before: After: A couple of hours messing around for not a lot of difference, but it makes ME feel better knowing its done right. You can spot the difference, can't you? Also made up some support stays for the gas bottle holders, and got them welded in. Spent some time figuring how I'm going to get the gas hose under control, reckon I know what to do now, just need to implement it! Cheers Doug

You can spot the difference, can't you? Cheers Doug I've tried 'spot the difference' for a while, did you cut the right leg out & replace it so the lower corner joint fitted better?
Looks a good design, would you be able to do a demo video? that way we could see the whole workings & it might help others who need something similar, me included
Great stuff Doug.

Sort of ST, the bottom right hand corner (as you look at the pic) got reworked because I made an error measuring it up, so the angle was different (by about 15mm at the bottom of the pic) - hard to see especially in a photo but when it was sitting in the travelling position, it wasn't all centered. Probably not many would notice, but I did so couldn't just leave it, it would have bugged me forever!
I can do a demo video for you, I'll get the last few bits and pieces done shouldn't take too much longer!
Cheers
Doug.
