Hi Guys,
New to the forum Looking forward to the Nationals coming up as gazzasmk1 and Jennison said I'm busily doing up my old plywood van. Not sure what year it is(50's I think). hopefully you guys can help with that.
I'll try to post pics when I learn how to.

Fantastic few days with Larry and Lyn having 40 year old annex put on my homebuilt caravan. Going there scared the bejesus out of me taking the van out on the highway for the first time. Sandbags in the front of the van as it was gutted inside. Larry lost Thursday night with big headache Friday night. Thanks Larry and Lyn for a wonderful weekend.

Hi all, After various discussions on the weekend regarding Cowra and some confusion with regard to long term forum members thinking that they weren't allowed to attend Cowra (with their classic van etc) if their vintage van wasn't finished in time. Following is an excerpt from Don Ricardo's Post 1 that clarifies the situation - I hope this helps clear the muddy waters.
[li]The Nationals are primarily and mainly intended for forum members and others with Vintage Caravans - but we are aware that some forum members have classic caravans, and that other V V’ers like to attend events with friends who come in non-vintage vans. All such people are very welcome to attend. Another option for those attending without a Vintage Caravan is to consider booking an en suite cabin. This will free up a space for another vintage van. The Nationals are partly about creating a spectacle of vintage vanning, but we do not wish to exclude anyone who would like to attend.
Luv Di

Thanks Di, for clarifying what seemed to be a murky matter for some people who maybe were a bit worried about attending with a classic van (that's barely over 1970) when they've got an unfinished vin van in the shed.
More the merrier I say! We're all vinvan freaks! Bit different if people wanted to bring along a WinnieVago!

Hi Donald80,
Good to hear that you'll be joining us at Cowra. Are you new to the vintage caravan scene, or have you been "lurking" behind the scenes for a while and have just joined the forum? Either way, welcome to the forum.
Do you have a vintage van?

Hi again Donald80,
Great to hear about your van. We will look forward to seeing some pics of it, then meeting you at Cowra.
...and don't worry about having to get someone to help you with posting the pics. There's an awful lot of us who started where you are and learnt things "on the job". I'm sure you will too.

On our recent road trip, we stopped off in Cowra for lunch in the park opposite the caravan park.
You've made a great choice of venue for the Nats...shady trees but grassy, close to town & shops...fantastic!

Cowra council/Tourist info centre has organised for us on Sunday 29th april ( day before the Nats start) They have moved the Cowra farmers market from a saturday to the sunday and also moved it from the showgrounds to the reserve /park next to our caravan park( Cowra van park) and are also puting on for us a band .....car show for the locals and for any of our members to display there vehicles ....locals are going to be asked to bring any vintage or classic vans along to display in this reserve /park Any member not stopping in the ( Cowra van park) next to the reserve /park ( members are now booking into the other caravan park in Cowra) are invited to bring along their vans to display (council has approved this ) there will also be food venders selling hot food Then in the afternoon local will be invited to vist the caravan park and view our vans and collectables ......maybe we could pick up some clues for vintage /classic vans /parts /Memorabillia etc Dennis could you change your trip around to arrive on the saturday ........and the team would like all other members that are booked for the nats to have a big think about arriving in time to support the local people and the sunday in the park.......this might mean ringing the caravan park and changing your booking cheers f/f ;D ;D ;D Read more: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=runevent1&thread=9271&page=2#ixzz1j0q6Svee

Hiya Firefighter.. Wow..... Sunday the 29th sounds like its going to be a big day for the town...... and US. Isnt it great when you can get the local authoritys ( councils etc) onside and keen to support our Nats. I reckon with what i have seen of the towcars amongst the vintage vanners we will have a decent sort of representation at the show and shine / display day. More than happy to throw the van open in the arvo to let the locals come and check us out... Can only help prompte vintage vanning amongst the locals... and... just maybe draw a few more barn finds out of the wood work ...to be rescued or.. better still.. restored by the "barn owners"" Just like to thank the Nats organisers for thier tireless efforts so far...much appreciacted by all of us. Regards Reddo

STRUTH JENNO !....145 WHAT..... CARAVANS OR PEOPLE Either way I have to admit this poor old sod is going to have trouble remembering who's who and who's paying the rent .... and I bet I'm not on me Pat Malone Have “ The Team” given consideration to providing the occupant of each caravan with a forum name tag to be worn 24/7 at cost price +100% ? If anybody is reported as not having their name tag on at any point in time they be fined a nominal fee say $50.... no no... joke joke … say $1 or $2, the proceeds of this exercise to be donated to a local Cowra charity. Judging by experience from past nationals the charity should make a motza because people tent to wear the name tags for a day or two then forget about it. Cobber.
